How to set up 2FA?

Updated over 3 months ago

Two‑Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a powerful layer of security to your Weltrade account. During login, both your password and a temporary, unique code are required, which reduces the risk of unauthorized access.

Why enable 2FA

  • Extra protection. Even if your password is compromised, unauthorized logins are blocked without the 2FA code.

  • Safe logins. You’ll receive a code whenever your account is accessed, ensuring only you can log in.

How to enable 2FA

1. Log in to your Weltrade account and enter your credentials

2. Open Settings. Go to Settings - Security

3. Find Two‑Factor authentication. Look for Two‑Factor Authentication (2FA) and click Manage.

4. Download Google Authenticator app. Link for App store (iOS) and Google Play store (Android)

5. Open authentication app

  • Scan QR code in your Weltrade account or use the 32-digit key

  • Enter your account password and authentication code from your 2FA app

6. Click Enable 2FA

Using 2FA going forward

  • At login, after entering your email and password, you’ll be prompted to enter the 2FA code.

  • Codes are valid for a short time and refresh with each login attempt.

💡 Tip: Best practices

  • Keep your backup codes (if provided) in a safe place

  • Don’t share your 2FA code with anyone

  • Combine 2FA with a strong, unique password for maximum security

Activating 2FA significantly strengthens your account’s security - we strongly recommend turning it on today.
