Rule 01 — Treat it like a business
Trading is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It's a real business - and like any business, it takes time to become profitable. Approach every trade with the same seriousness you'd apply to running a company: plan, track, review, and improve.
Rule 02 — Never trade your last money
Only trade with money you can genuinely afford to lose. The risks are real, and even experienced traders face losing streaks. You can't truly call yourself a trader until you've survived losing at least 10 deposits.
Rule 03 — Educate yourself
Understand how financial markets work, how political and economic events move prices, and how to use your trading platform. Know how to calculate margin, stop-out levels, and position sizes before placing any trade.
Rule 04 — Start small — learn as you go
Demo accounts don't replicate the psychological pressure of real money. Use a cent account to develop your strategy with real stakes at minimal risk. Never underestimate how much emotions affect your decisions.
Rule 05 — Build a solid strategy
Focus on instruments you understand. Your margin per trade should not exceed 10% of your equity. Define your stop loss before entering any position - decide in advance what percentage of your balance you're willing to risk, and stick to it.
Rule 06 — Grow profits, not losses
One of the hardest things in trading is closing a losing position. Traders hold on hoping prices will recover - but losses keep growing. Adding to a losing position is like doubling your bet at a casino. Cut losses early, and let your profitable trades run.
Rule 07 — Stick to your strategy
Thoughts like "I'll just move my stop loss a bit" or "the price will come back" have cost traders millions. Every deviation from your plan is a gamble, not a trade. Write your rules down and follow them every single time - no exceptions.
Rule 08 — No emotional trading
Never trade when you're angry, euphoric, or distracted. In these states it's easy to abandon your strategy entirely. If you're not in the right headspace - step away from the screen and come back when you're calm and focused.
